Praying with your church in the month of february

February 17th, 2021

Bible passages to be read before prayer and used to stimulate prayer:

Isaiah 66:1-2 “Thus says the Lord, “Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool.  Where then is a house you could build for Me? And where is a place that I may rest? 2 “For My hand made all these things, Thus all these things came into being,” declares the Lord. “But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.

Micah 6:8 “He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?”

Matthew 11:29 “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart…”

Philippians 2:5-8 “Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.”

1 Corinthians 12:4-7 “Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. 6 There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. 7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.”

1 Corinthians 12:12-14 “For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. 14  For the body is not one member, but many.

1 Corinthians 13:1-8 “If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing. 4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, 6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails.”

Romans 12:4-6 “For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. 6 Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly…”

Prayer Focus

Ask God to our help church body to walk in humility with a contrite heart and a deep respect for His word (Is. 66:1-2; Micah 6:8; Matt. 11:29; Philip. 2:5-8).

Ask God to energize the spiritual gifts within our Church (1 Cor. 12:4-6).

Ask God to unify our church through the proper exercise of our spiritual gifts (Rom. 12:4-6).

Ask God to help us use our spiritual gifts, in love, for the sake of the body of Christ (1 Cor. 13:1-8.)

Ask God to make us aware of how essential each member of our church is to each other (1 Cor. 12:12-14).
